Minnesota Robotics Invitational 2014

We had a great time yesterday at the 2014 Minnesota Robotics Invitational! It was our first pre-season event with our new rookie team members, and it was a perfect opportunity to get them involved and show them what a competition will be like.IMG_4772-L

We brought along two robots, our competition and practice bots, and competed as two teams: our normal 2175, The Fighting Calculators, and 9001, #teamgreg. Both robots had new drive teams, and both performed well! Greg was seeded second and formed an alliance with Team 3130, Team 2502, and Team 2491. Atlas, 2175’s robot, was chosen by the fourth seed alliance, Teams 4778, 4624, and 4536. That alliance finished as semifinalists, and Greg’s alliance finished as finalists!IMG_4747-L

Additionally, two team members were given the 2014 Minnesota Robotics Invitational Scholarships–congratulations to Elise and Ines!

Overall, a very fun event, and a huge thank you to the Firebears for hosting. Now, we have some time for more training sessions before Minne-Mini in November!
